Sublative Rejuvenation with eMatrix is a unique procedure which uses radio frequency to deliver an effective but controlled ablative and non-ablative fractional treatment for wrinkles, scars, large pores, and better texture of the skin. Similar to "Fraxel" it uses radiofreqeuency (electrical) energy, as opposed to laser. Each pulse delivers the radio frequency energy via a grid of matrix spots, inducing a skin injury which is maximized in these tiny, targeted areas. Fibroblasts activated within the “zones” signal collagen to regenerate and remodel, yielding improved skin tone and texture overall. Meanwhile, the surrounding “untreated” tissue then helps to support and accelerate the healing process in the skin.
The ergonomic Sublative applicator delivers bipolar radio frequency energy via a matrix of either 64 or 44 electrodes in the disposable applicator tips. The RF energy generates fractional deep dermal heating in the region of the electrode matrix to induce skin injury, thus eliciting a wound healing response. Mild to moderate wrinkles and superficial skin discoloration are reduced, and skin texture becomes more smooth and elastic.
Patients can expect a noticeable reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks and other scarring, brown spots, sun damage and fine broken blood vessels. In addition, patients will see an improvement in texture and skin laxity.
During treatment, many patients feel a warm, prickly sensation as energy enters their skin. After treatment a pink or red “sunburn” appearance and feeling is also common. Topical anesthetic cream is used to reduce discomfort during treatment.
Most patients have mild redness and swelling for a few hours to 3 days after the treatment. You may apply make–up to the treated area after the Sublative Rejuvenation procedure. Tiny crusts develop and are present for about 5-7 days, but are easy to camouflage with makeup.
For optimum results, 3 to 5 treatments are advised 4-6 weeks apart. Each session produces incremental improvements to the gradual formation of collagen and, as a result, gradual improvements to your appearance. Results will develop over time and with subsequent treatments. Full results can be appreciated at three to six months following the last treatment. Maintenance treatments may be necessary. The total number of sessions depends on your skin’s condition.
Sublative Rejuvenation with the eMatrix may be combined with many other cosmetic treatments such as Botox, injectable fillers, and platelet rich plasma therapy. Many patients choose to undergo combination treatments in order to achieve the maximum aesthetic result.
